Join us for a special evening of poetic bliss. Topaz Hooper, international poet and spoken word performer from Denver, CO, is releasing her newest poetry book, My Mind's Eye: Poetry and Visual Art on Social Justice, Philosophy and Identity at Steep Station in St. Petersburg, FL.

The event will include an open mic, a poetry reading by Topaz Hooper, book signing, and photograph with the author.

Topaz's performances have been called "fresh and honest" and "sticky and sensual".

Artist bio:

Topaz Hooper is an author, entrepreneur, and poet out of Saint Petersburg, FL and Denver, CO. She has been writing poetry since she was 11 years old and has performed her spoken word all over the world. From Amsterdam to Costa Rica, Topaz has shared her work with poetry lovers and spoken-word enthusiasts alike. Her poetry has been described as "fresh and honest" with her blend of wordplay, emotionality and her animated performance style. Topaz enjoys using poetry to incite emotional and critical awareness in her audience. Her poetry touches on topics relating to her queer identity, politics, love, loss, and world injustice. Her newest book, My Mind's Eye: Poetry and Visual Art on Social Justice, Philosophy and Identity is her first published poetry book with many more to come. When Topaz is not writing or performing poetry, she enjoys traveling the world and sitting in coffee shops with a warm Matcha green tea in her hands overlooking a busy city street.
